Summary: This is a customer service position working to help the service department navigate the influx of customers as they come and go each day. Heavy administrative duties such as Greeting customers, listening to their description of the problems or service needed and taking notes accordingly, Coordinating with the service department to determine the type of service required, and prepare repair orders.This candidate will also be responsible to relaying messages from the service department to the customer regarding Preventative Maintenance and scheduling that as needed. Essential Duties: · Relay messages from the service department to the customers about necessary service for routine maintenance · Works with the service department to relay the information about identified mechanical problems. · Conducing visual inspection and/or scheduled road test as needed. · Confers with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures, and prepare work order for needed repairs · Writes a brief description of the customer's concern on the repair order to help the technician locate the problem · Explains the work performed · Schedules service appointments. Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible. · Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information · Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service · Notifies Service Manager of incoming work · Checks on progress of repair throughout the day. Contacts customers regarding any changes promised time and gets proper authorization before any bill back repairs are performed. · Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed, and additional work and authorization is noted. · Maintains high customer satisfaction standards · Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process · Attends company training as required · Maintains a professional appearance · Keeps work area clean · Other duties as assigned Qualifications: · One to two years related experience and/or training ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
